A little Baja 5b history

In May of 2006 HPI Racing released the HPI Baja 5b RTR which by itself spurred the interest of large scale RC's throughout the United States. The HPI Baja 5b is a rear wheel drive large scale buggy that measures almost 32" in length. This 1/5th scale RC is powered by a 23cc gas/oil mix engine that produced 2 horse power and reached speeds of close to 30 MPH.

By October of 2007, HPI Racing was releasing a new version of the very popular large scale buggy, the Baja 5b SS. HPI took the existing Baja 5b and turned it into a kit form as well as took care of some weak spots in the orginial Baja and gave it more power. The Baja SS comes shipped with a bigger 26cc engine, aluminum tuned pipe, aluminum diff case, heavy duty dogbones, and many other pre-included hop-ups.
